Camping Adds Character

Old Scoutmaster at campfire Remember: three quarters of Scouting is "outing"

The Boy Scout Program is an outdoor adventure program. Camping is the predominant application of the outdoor adventures. Travel, sightseeing, visiting national and state parks, hiking, climbing and many more adventures also apply to the outdoor adventure plan.

Camping is the focus of our outdoor programs here. Units choose to go camping as fits their activities and advancements programs. Utilizing a variety of types of camping, scouting units train their young men to be experienced in the wide variety of outdoor adventures. The whole experience is planned, prepared and executed by the scout. Parental leaders are only involved to keep the boys safe.
